A seamless loop of the intro of Michael Jackson’s song Billy Jean plays through a speaker (in this case mounted in a replacement cover for an old
coal chute.) The loop consists of the entire intro to the song and reaches the first note of the melody of the song and instead of continuing into
the melody, the loop reverts back into the intro, continuing always to lead to the melody. When the first note of the song’s melody is heard, a
square light (also here mounted in another replacement coal chute cover) turns on for the one beat duration of the note. The light turns off again
as the sound reverts back to the intro of the song. This continues ad infinitum.
