LCD monitor, servo motor, microcontroller, DVD player and recording
4 h x 6 w x 2 1/2 inches
2002
This video piece consists of a small LCD screen mounted to a small motor. The motor rotates the LCD screen in semi-circular arcs, clockwise and
then reverse to counterclockwise. Playing back on the LCD screen is a video of a tank of water, with the horizon line of the water tilting from left
to right (created by rotating the video camera left to right when the video was made.) The motor is programmed to move very accurately under
the control of a microcontroller and its resulting movement serves to cancel the tilt in the horizon line of the video, thus leaving the surface of the
water to always remain horizontal.
